Penetrating Damp

Penetrating damp is caused by moisture penetrating through the fabric of the building from an external source.

There could be several reasons for this; through the roof, through the external walls of the property or from a leak in an adjacent property.

BAR Preservation surveyors have the specific qualifications, skills and experience to inspect and rectify damp; they are all Certified Surveyors for Remedial Treatments (CSRT).

They can usually identify the problem quickly, recommend a repair strategy and provide you with a quotation to remedy the damp problem: Whether the work required is roofing, re- pointing or waterproof coatings.

BAR Preservation then provide all the specialist repairs required to fix buildings with damp problems.

This includes a range of micro porous siliconate external coatings which waterproof the external face of the masonry while still allowing the property to breath. Where appropriate one of several cementitous or cavity drained membrane systems are recommended for application to internal walls.
